Having more children could slow aging

In the journal PLOS One, researchers reveal that women who had more children had longer telomeres than women who had fewer children.

Telomeres are caps at the end of each DNA strand that protect our chromosomes - thread-like structures that contain all our genetic information - from damage.

Each time a cell replicates, telomeres become shorter. They eventually become so short that they stop protecting chromosomes, leaving them vulnerable to damage, which in turn causes our cells to age and stop functioning effectively.

Previously, animal studies have supported the "life history theory," suggesting that higher reproductive behavior is associated with accelerated biological aging.

However, this latest study, led by Prof. Pablo Nepomnaschy and Cindy Barha - both of Simon Fraser University in Canada - contradicts this theory.

    1. Look, I get the hype around open-plan offices, but my last spot had zero privacy—which killed my focus. I toured a coworking space last Tuesday that had small pods for calls, which seems like a smart compromise hot desk facilities in Singapore

    1. Oh man, noise was a total dealbreaker for us in our last office. We had a pretty open floor plan with no real soundproofing, and by midday, it was basically impossible to concentrate. I’d say productivity probably took a 15-20% hit exploring coworking membership plans

    1. Oh man, the noise in our open-plan office was driving us all nuts. We tried noise-cancelling headphones, but it’s not a real fix when you have constant chatter and phone calls around you http://wiki-square.win/index.php/Reducing_Carbon_Footprint_in_Healthcare_Office_Spaces:_Practical_Paths_for_Facilities_That_Still_Use_Traditional_Offices

    1. Hey, fellow entrepreneurs! I moved my small design biz to WeWork in downtown Chicago last year. The price? About $450/month for a hot desk, which initially felt steep. But cutting my commute from 90 mins to just 20? Totally worth it membership fees for coworking spaces

    1. Look, I’ve been investing in video ads for about six months now, and while engagement metrics look promising, I’m still scratching my head on how to pin down actual ROI beyond lead gen Great site

    1. Look, I totally get the appeal of short-term office spaces, but my experience was a mixed bag. I paid about $4,800 for 180 sqft last year in downtown Austin, and while the location was killer, the soundproofing was nonexistent https://wiki-triod.win/index.php/How_a_$1.1M-Backed_SaaS_Founder_Stopped_Taking_Client_Calls_from_the_Kitchen_and_Secured_a_Real_Business_Address_in_14_Days

    1. Ugh, I feel you on this one! Planted begonias in my backyard last summer, and they all died after like three weeks. Thought I nailed the watering schedule, but nope. Turns out my soil is ridiculously sandy and drains too fast hydrangeas thriving in afternoon shade

    1. I've noticed that when teaching probability, framing gambling logic as real-life decision-making really helps students connect. In my experience, sharing examples from card games they actually play boosts engagement learning management systems
